Our Story

Optimist Made is designed to intersect technology and fashion in order to bring opportunity to the global design sector and a richer apparel and accessory offering to the consumer. The story starts with my mission to introduce a diverse portfolio of fashion expression to the US market. I have had a long career as a global marketing executive where I have spent many years on airplanes in and out of various countries with full passport books to prove it. I got my travel bug at a young age with a commercial airline pilot for a father and a mother from Jamaica who craves adventure. My yearning to live like a local when overseas takes me deep into the most mystical and remarkable haunts with an endless trail of interesting people. I can never resist indulging in what many would call ‘wanderlust.’

My closet is full of my journeys. It’s my personal diary of where I have been and what I have done. And I love it! The frequency of conversation among friends raging with curiosity around where my clothes, jewelry and bags have come from has inspired me to give to others what I have been fortunate to have in my life. The gift of an international narrative. My pockets full of experiences are really something special. Building this platform has given me a chance to re-gift unexpected opportunities to many designers, allowed me to stimulate economies, expand my ability to charitably give back and make unique items from abroad accessible to Americans. And I get to do all of this while doing what I love… building and branding.
